What to prepare
- Ganesha vigraha — At least 1
- Wooden plank or stool (chowki) for the idol — 1
- A cloth to cover Wooden plank or stool (chowki) — 1
- Akshata (rice mixed with turmeric, prepared fresh) — 1 bowl
- Water — 1 small pot/tumbler, refilled as needed
- Panchamrit — 1 small bowl, freshly prepared
- Sandalwood paste (chandan) — 1 small quantity, a teaspoon or two is enough
- Kumkum (red vermilion powder) — 1 small pinch-container
- Fresh flowers, loose — How much ever you want
- Flower garland (mala) — 1
- Modaks — at least 5-11 (odd numbers are traditional; 21 if doing a fuller offering)
- Fresh fruits — (banana, coconut,Mango, Orange) — 2-3 varieties, a few of each - atleast 4
- Betel leaves and betel nuts (paan and supari) — — 4-8 leaves, a few nuts
- Diya (oil lamp) with ghee or oil — 1-2
- Incense sticks (agarbatti/dhoop) — a few sticks
- Camphor (for aarti flame) — a small piece or two
- Any other Decoration items
- Payasam — 1 Cup or as needed
- Vadai — Few
